Burn Permits

A burn permit is designed to help get rid of piles of trees that have been pushed up from the clearing of land. Such as fencerows or housing developments. You cannot burn tree limbs from the maintenance of your property. The city has a chipper schredder day one time per month for such a thing, and they will take a limb up to 6 inches in diameter.

  • Pile has to be 300 ft. from any structure or down wind from structure.
  • Pile can consist of trees and limbs only. No milled wood or lumber of any kind.
  • The burn must be monitored at all times
  • If the burning of the pile causes smoke that is bothersome, the fire will be put out.

It may take approximately one week for your pile to be inspected. Inspections will take place twice a week. Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. It will be the responsibility of the person conducting the burn, to monitor the fire. A burn permit does not release to owner of the pile from any damages that may be caused by the burning of the pile.
