POLICE AWARDS PROGRAM
The Robinson Police Department honored several officers, staff,
and local citizens at its second annual awards program last month at the First
Baptist Church-Robinson on Stegall. Three Life-Saving Awards were presented. Lt.
Jeff Lewellen, Patrol Officer Patrick Carey and Telecommunicator Jessica Dumesnil
were all instrumental in saving the life of a man having a heart attack.
MOVIES IN YOUR PARK
Time Warner Cable is providing a free movie at the site of the
proposed new Robinson Park on Peplow next to Brookshire’s. Shrek
the Third will begin at dusk (about 8:45 PM) Saturday, July 12th. Pre-movie
activities and entertainment will start at 7:30 PM.
FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
City offices will be closed Friday, July 4th, in observance of
Independence Day. IESI, the city’s solid waste collection contractor
will also take the day off. Friday’s trash route will be collected
on Saturday, July 5th.
