Planning and Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of five members who are appointed by the City Council. Commission members serve staggered two-year terms. Currently the Planning and Zoning Commission members are Chair, Bill Morgan, Jim Haston, Gerald Staas, Jim Reid, and Dexter Sternberg.

The Commission recommends boundaries for the original zoning districts and appropriate zoning regulations for each district. They also conduct public hearings on requests for zone changes or on any proposed change to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and make recommendations to the City Council. Additionally, the Planning and Zoning Commission reviews and makes preliminary recommendations for all subdivision plats prior to their submission to the City Council.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m.
