Robinson citizens continue to enjoy one of the lowest crime rates in McLennan County, according to the 2007 Uniform Crime Report (UCR) published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Texas Department of Public Safety. The report lists the seven index crimes of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and auto theft. Since no two jurisdictions are the same size, the UCR expresses the Crime Rate as the number of crimes committed per 100,000 population for comparison purposes. For example, the actual number of index crimes in Robinson in 2007 was about 210. That equates to a rate per 100,000 population of 2,098
