Citizens wishing to address the City Council on non-public hearing agenda items and items not on the agenda may do so during Citizen Comments. Due to regulations of the Texas Open Meetings Act, please do not expect a response from the Council as they are not able to do so. Citizen Comments will be your only opportunity to speak unless you are speaking on a scheduled public hearing. After the close of the Citizen Comments portion of the meeting only comments related to public hearings will be heard. All comments are limited to three minutes.
In order to be recognized during Citizen Comments, please complete a blue appearance card located at the entrance to the City Council Chamber and present it to the City Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. As a reminder, Citizen Comments will be your only opportunity to speak unless you are speaking on a scheduled public hearing item. The Council may not respond due to regulations of the Texas Open Meetings Act.
If you have material you would like to share with the City Council, you are encouraged to provide it to the City Secretary prior to the meeting along with your blue appearance card. The City Secretary will make sure council members receive the information provided.
Any individual wishing to make a presentation before the City Council or one of its official boards must present to the City Secretary a copy of that presentation on a thumb drive, CD, DVD or through email a minimum of four days in advance of such meeting.
Please contact the City Secretary with any questions or assistance with the addressing the council.
