In an effort to DO OUR PART to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst the limited amount of employees we have on staff, we have made changes to our employee’s shifts throughout all departments to minimize the risk of exposure if a staff member was to come in contact with the virus. The utility and street departments have their employees split into two crews that are working opposite shifts from one another. In order to do this, these employees will now be working seven (7) days a week. The crew that is not on duty will be on call in case of an emergency. With these changes, it will not be uncommon to see city vehicles, equipment, and staff out and about on the weekend performing duties like mowing rights-of-way, pothole patching, drainage clearing, and performing work on water and sewer lines. This change ensures there is a crew in place in the event one of the crews cannot perform their duties due to COVID-19. This limits the risk of all employees being exposed. Some shift changes have also been made within the Police Department to ensure we can continue to meet the needs of our residents 24/7.
All city facilities will remain closed to the public during this time, but we are still available by phone, email, or by online website submissions if you have questions or need to make a payment or report something. We will keep everyone informed through our communication channels if anything changes. Find ways to connect with us @ https://bit.ly/CORCOVID19
