Notice of Intent to Revise the Flood Hazard Information

Notice of the Intent to Revise Flood Hazard

The City of Robinson in conjunction with the cities of Waco, Hewitt, Woodway, and McLennan County floodplain management, as specified by the National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), is providing notice to residents on our intent to revise the flood hazard information along Flat Creek, Flat Creek Tributary 1, Flat Creek Tributary 2, Flat Creek Tributary 3, Cottonwood Creek, Primrose Creek, Velma Channel, LaSalle Overflow, Barron’s Branch, and Barron’s Branch Tributary 1 within the city limits of Waco TX, Robinson TX, Hewitt, TX, Woodway, TX, and McLennan County. The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of the Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) Case No. 20-06-3502P. Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised from where the down streams meet join each other to the upstream headwaters.

As a result of the revision:
1.            The floodway will widen, narrow, or be established within the area of revision.
2.            The 1-percent-annual-chance water surface elevation shall increase, decrease, or be established within the area of revision.
3.            The 1-percent-annual-chance floodplain will widen or narrow within the area of revision.

Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed here. Anyone interested in more information may contact Justin French, AICP, Director of Planning and Development, at 254-662-1415 or j.french@robinsontexas.org between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
